Over 120 Lunatics picked from the three major
towns in Akwa Ibom and rehabilitated have regained mental health.

Speaking yesterday at the Lunatic Rehabilitation
Programme at the Psychiatric Hospital, Eket, the state Commissioner for health,
Dr. Glory Edet said the lunatics who were picked up from the street of Uyo,
Eket and Ikot Ekpene regained their mental health after being medically
attended to in Eket Psychiatric Hospital.

He expressed gratitude to the Gov. Mr. Udom and
wife Mrs. Martha for showing love and care to mentally ill persons in the
state.

He said that “Gov. Udom has demonstrated a rare and unparalled
consciousness towards the development of vulnerable members of the society by
putting in place mechanism in the
development of persons with disability”.
