Senate
yesterday mandated its Committee on Appropriation t allocateN10 billion under
service wide vote, for relocation and settlement of Internally Displaced
Persons (IDPs) returning to Borno and Adamawa States.

Senate also directed the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA) and Refugees Commission to arrange for repatriation
and resettlement of Nigerian refugees in Cameroun, Niger and Chad.

The Red Chamber also tasked the Committee to
include IDS in Taraba, Plateau, Benue and Nasarawa states as beneficiaries in
the allocated amount.

The decision by the Senate followed a motion
titled: “Interim financial and material support/assistance to Internally
Displaced Persons, IDPs, returnees in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.”
