- Akwa Ibom government has accused multinational companies and
business operations of evading taxes.
- Deputy Governor, Moses Ekpo made the remark while hosting
the ad hoc committee investigating the accounting procedure of Federal Inland
Revenue Service.
- Ekpo noted that many of the companies evade tax to the state
under the premise that their headquarters are not located in the state.
- He called on the intervention of the National Assembly in
the situation.
