United FC’s interim board was dismissed by the Akwa Ibom State government.

The state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel took the
decision following the premature exit of the team from the 2016 Caf
Confederation Cup.

The dissolution was contained in a statement
signed by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr Aniekan
Umanah.

Mr Paul Bassey had been appointed as the new
Board Chairman of the team with immediate effect, and would occupy the position
for three months.
