The
Bayelsa State government yesterday confirmed that it had received N1.24 billion
from the Federal Government as bailout fund.
-
Deputy Governor of the state, Chief John Jonah
made the disclosure in Yenogoa during the government’s income and expenditure
briefing for January.
-
He revealed that the fund will be used to clear
the backlog of salaries owed workers in the eight local government councils of
the state.
-
Jonah alleged that the money was ready before
the December 2015 governorship election in the state, but alleged that the
Federal Government had refused to release it.
