A former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode
Fayemi failed to appear before the Ekiti State House of Assembly on Tuesday.

He is alleged to have misappropriated N852
million Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Funds.

Fayemi, through his personal assistant, wrote to
the state Assembly, stating that he could not honour the invitation due to
prior scheduled state engagements.

The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly,
Kola Oluwawole said a copy of the letter had been forwarded to the House
Committee on Public Accounts and Committee on Finance and Appropriation, for
scrutiny.
