The Federal Government (FG) has constituted a
presidential committee to investigate high profile corruption cases which the Economic
and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has been allegedly compromised.

The committee which is under the office of the
Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar
Malami, is named Presidential Committee on Verification of Assets.

Though the Committee is yet to be inaugurated,
it has reportedly been split into three sub committees.

The first sub committee’s duty is to verify
looted assets recovered by EFCC,the second sub-committee will have similar
focus on recovered loot by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related
offences Commission (ICPC), while the third sub-committee will probe the alleged fraud in the nation’s
pension scheme.
