FRESH CRISIS IN PDP AS SHERIFF IGNORES NEC’S DIRECTIVE

-           Fresh crisis appears to loom in the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) as ite Acting National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff has ignored the directive given to him and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) by the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).

-          In its last meeting, NEC asked Sheriff to set up a committee that will determine the zoning formula to be used in the coming National Convention of the party.
-          In preparation for the convention slated for May, 21 in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, NEC asked Sheriff and NWC to establish the following Committees: the National Convention Committee, Reconciliation Committee, Zoning Committee and Finance Committee.
-          Reportedly, instead of implementing the directives, Sheriff and his NWC have made moves to prolong their stay in office and predetermine the duties of the said committees.
