Police
Inspector- General, Solomon Arase laments the inadequate number of Police in
the country, thus urging various state Police Commands to embark on, and
strengthen Community Policing in states, to curb criminality.

Arase made the call following rising insecurity,
and debates over the level of adequacy and competence of the Nigeria Police.

The IGP said withdrawal of police orderlies was
not applicable to politicians holding top government offices like the Senate
President, House Speaker, others.

Arase attributed the inadequacies to lack of
recruitment into the Force in the past five years, revealing that Buhari’s
administration has plans about recruitment.
