INSURGENCY: SOLDIERS RESCUE 180 HOSTAGES, KILL 5 TERRORISTS



-           The Nigerian Army has stated that soldiers prosecuting the war on terror have rescued 180 hostages, mostly women and children who were abducted by Boko Haram for months.

-          While confronting the insurgents to rescue the captives, 5 insurgents were killed in a shootout, and several dangerous weapons/explosives were recovered.
-           Statement signed by Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman said “during the operations, they killed 5 Boko Haram terrorists and rescued 180 persons and their cattle…”
-          The clearing was conducted by the Army and the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Menari, Bulamari, Zangebe, Maafa, Mijigine, Baale and Kaltaram villages in Mafa LGA.
