Commissioner for Health, Dr Dominic Ukpong has called on citizens in A’Ibom
state to always remain alert at checking the spread of infectious diseases in
the state.

This,
Dr. Ukpong said, will ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens and help
government provide prompt response to any outbreak of diseases in the state.

Speaking
while hosting Executive Committee of Association of petty Businessmen in the
State, in his office, he promised a reward system for volunteers who are
committed to checking the spread of infectious diseases, including Lassa fever
cases.

Dr.
Ukpong told the body that hawking of drugs is never allowed in civilized
societies and should not be patronized, as offenders will be prosecuted.
