Human rights writers association of Nigeria (HURIWA)
describes as a sham, the High Court decision to use masked witnesses by office of
Federal Attorney General, Ministry of Justice.

HURIWA said the decision is tantamount to
allowing ghost witnesses, and constitutes grave abuse of natural justice.

He said
the accused person must be given the right to interrogate genuine witnesses to
present his case, so the judicial forum can exercise her authority in a transparent
and accountable manner.

He stated that this is enshrined in chapter four
of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
