MOBIL GETS 7 DAYS ULTIMATUM TO PAY OIL SPILL COMPENSATION IN EKET

  -    -     Oil giant, Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited over the weekend were given a 7 day ultimatum to pay the 2011 oil spill compensation to Eket or face total disruptin of its activities.

-     -     The Afaha Youth Association Eket Chapter said the ultimatum became necessary because of the suspicious undercurrent manner the company was treating the community for the past five years.
-    -      The Association in a release signed by its executives said the people of Eket have been patient enough and have tolerated the arrogant and disdainful attitude of the oil giant for so long.
-     -     They also lashed the company for not explaining clearly the reasons of the delay to the community.
