- Cross River State govt. says it has won the fight against polio through immunization programmes.
- Special Adviser to Gov. Ayade on Public health, Dr. Betta Edu gave the news at the flag off of the first Immunisation Plus days (IPDs) in 2016.
- Dr Inyang Asibong, Commissioner for Health in cross river advised mothers and caregivers to present their children for immunisation.
- Development indices show that Nigeria will be certified as polio free by 2017.
