As part
of crime prevention and community safety strategy, Gombe State Police Command,
under the Police Community Partnership Approach to Policing project,
collaborated with an NYSC member, Mr. Lumi Irimiya to train 250 unemployed youths.
-
The 250 unemployed youths were trained in the
production of emulsion and text coat paints.
-
The Police Commissioner noted that most youths
commit crimes out of idleness or joblessness, and the need to satisfy their
daily needs.
-
According to him, the youths commit crimes and
anti social behaviours because their vibrant energies are not positively
engaged to keep them busy.
