RE-RUN: INEC, COURTS ERRED- EKWEREMADU



-           Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has blamed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for flouting the constitution.

-          Ekweremadu stated that INEC erred for conducting re-run elections in the various State Houses of Assembly and the National Assembly, later than 30-days after the elections had been nullified by the courts.
-          He called for a comprehensive review of the electoral act, to address the anomalies bring it in line with emerging electoral realities
-          The Deputy Senate President faulted the courts for not adhering to the constitution, as it is unconstitutional to conduct elections after 30 days as constitutionally provided.
