The Chief
Executive Officer of MTN Nigeria, Mr. Ferdi Moolman says the report on the
company’s final settlement of the N780 billion fines was false.

The disclosure was contained in a statement
signed by Moolman on Saturday in Lagos.

In the statement, Moolman said the reports of
the claim of settlement were premature, as MTN was still negotiating with the
Federal Government of Nigeria.

Moolman said “the confidential negotiations are
still very much ongoing with the authorities to achieve an amicable resolution
on the matter…”
