RIVERS RERUN: 7 KILLED, AIDES ARRESTED BY ARMY

-           The National Assembly and State Assembly re-run elections held in Rivers State yesterday went out of security control in some hot spots, leaving about seven people dead.

-          The deaths were recorded at Abalama in Asari Toru LGA, Eleme in Eleme LGA, Nonwa in Tai LGA and Ogboloko in Abua/Odual LGA.

-          Reportedly police has arrested some people for alleged electoral violence and for parading themselves as as policemen.

-          However, elections were conducted peacefully in other parts of the state, though some voters boycotted the elections to avoid security screening by soldiers and policemen.
