The Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) AND THE All Progressives Congress (APC) have risen to defend an INEC
National Commissioner, Amina Bala Zakari, accused of working in cahoots with
APC to rig Saturday’s legislative rerun in Rivers.

Gov. Nyesom Wike had allegedly accused the INEC
official of being in possession of result sheets which, she intended using to
rig the elections in fovour of APC.

INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, while fielding
questions from Journalists in Abuja, said Ms Zakari could not have been in
possession of result sheets, as INEC was yet to give sensitive election
materials.

Secretary of APC expressed his worry on Wike’s threat on INEC, especially Ms
Zakari with a record of supervising some most credible, free and fair elections
by INEC.
