A Lagos
State High Court, Igbosere, has dismissed the preliminary objection raised by
the immediate past Director-General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and
Safety Agency (NIMASA), Patrick Akpolobokemi, against the charges filed against
him.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) charged Akpobolokemi and six others with the alleged fraud of N754.7
million before Justice Raliat Adebiyi.

The alleged accomplices of Akpobolokemi are
Ekene Nwakuche, Ezekiel Agaba, Vincent Udoye, Governor Juan, Adegboyga
Olopoenia and Gama Marine Nigeria Limited.

Upon being arraigned on January 25, the accused
persons had all pleaded not guilty.
