WHY MILE 12 BUILDING COLLAPSED

-          The Lagos State Govt. says the one-storey building that collapsed on 9, Alli Close, Mile 12, in the Kosofe LGA, has no pillar to support its structure.

-          Govt. officials stated that the building was constructed in 1981 when there was little or no supervision of building construction.
-          The building partially collapsed at about 9am on Saturday, killing one person.
-          The acting General Manager of the Lagos State Material Testing Laboratory, Mr. Rasheed Balogun, on Sunday said there were obvious cracks on the building, which indicated that it was not well maintained.
