- All is now set for the Abia North
senatorial district re-run which many observers had described as a battle of
billionaires.

- The air is animated with activities in
all the nooks and crannies of the five local councils that make up the
senatorial district.

- The three main contestants in the election
are; former governor Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu of the Progressives Peoples Alliance
(PPA), Dr. David Ogba Onuoha of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and
- Chief Mao Ohuabunwa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Chief Mao Ohuabunwa won the election as
the senator of the district before the Court of Appeal (Owerri Division) annulled
his election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
to conduct a re-run.
