BASSEY TAKES OVER AKWA UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

-           Akwa United FC’s interim board was dismissed by the Akwa Ibom State government.

-          The state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel took the decision following the premature exit of the team from the 2016 Caf Confederation Cup.

-          The dissolution was contained in a statement signed by the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Mr Aniekan Umanah.

-          Mr Paul Bassey had been appointed as the new Board Chairman of the team with immediate effect, and would occupy the position for three months.
