Mohammadu Buhari on Sunday expressed sadness over the news of the death of the
first civilian governor of Delta State, Chief Felix Ibru.

In a statement signed by Buhari’s Special
Assistant on media and publicity, Buhari extended his condolences to the Ibru
family, the Urhobo clan, the people and government of Delta State, including friends
and associates of the deceased across Nigeria.

President Buhari noted that late Senator Ibru
made remarkable contributions to the progress and development of Nigeria during
his lifetime.

Buhari urged the people to take solace in their
awareness of Ibru’s fulfilled life of great accomplishments and indelible
legacies, while praying God to grant chief Ibru, eternal rest.
