NIGERIA, BENIN POLICE CONFRONT 18-MAN ROBBERY GANG



-           Plans by an 18-man robbery gang to rob banks and bureau-DE-change operators at Seme, a border town in Lagos, was foiled by security agents from Nigeria and Benin.

-          The Police angaged the hoodlums in a shootout, which left six suspected members of the gang killed, three arrested, while others escaped with bullet wounds.
-          Items recovered were: 9 speed boats, 6 loaded magazines, 883 live ammunition, dynamites, and dangerous weapons, like house breaking tools.
-          Lagos state police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, who visited the scene, said Police had received intelligence reports, two weeks before the incident.
