- The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three senior officials of Imo State Government, including the principal secretary to Governor Rochas Okorocha, Dr. Obi Paschal Chigozie.

- The other two officials arrested were
the director of finance, Uzoho Casmir and the treasurer, Iheoma Kenneth.

- They were arrested for allegedly
diverting part of the N2billion bailout fund given to the state by the Federal
Government for payment of salary arrears of the state’s civil servants.

- Few months after assumption of office, President
Buhari granted a bailout after most state governments complained of their
inability to pay their workers due to cash crunch.
