Gov.
Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has declared today, March 17 and tomorrow, March 18
as work free days, for the rerun legislative elections in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC) will conduct elections 22 of the 33 state House of Assembly seats, 12 of
the 13 House of Representatives seats and the three Senatorial Districts, on
March 19.

Governor Wike, who made the announcement in a
state broadcast on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, said the work free days would
enable workers in the public and private sectors to participate in the
exercise.

He urged the electorates to vote for candidates
who will protect their rights, and promote their collective interests in the
National Assembly.
