AKSG TO PLANT 60,000 HECTARES OF COCOA



_        The Akwa Ibom State Government has concluded arrangements to cultivate cocoa on 60,000 hectares of farm land to increase yields and upgrade its production position in the next one year.

_        Governor Udom made this known during the flag off exercise to mark the special cocoa maintenance scheme organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
_        The event took place at Ekpemiong Itak and Ananamong, in Ikono and Ini Local Government Areas respectively.
_        The Governor reveals the plan of his administration to train 450 youths to become consultants using the facilities and personnel from the West Afican sub region.
