The
Cross River State Govt. has expressed satisfaction with the level of work being
undertaken by the Nigerian Erosion and Watershed Management Agency Programme
NEWMAP.
-
The deputy Gov., Prof. Ivara Esu, made this
known in Calabar while on an on-the-spot assessment tour of all NEWMAP project
sites in Calabar metropolis.
-
He described the erosion control works as
wonderful in terms of technical expertise and aesthetic outlay and commended
the programme operators and engineers for job well done.
-
Prof.
Esu, who is himself a soil scientist, noted that these objects would form a
good basis for studies by soil physicists adding that his regular visit was a
clear indication of govt’s interests in the projects.
CULLED FROM THE PIONEER.
