FG RECEIVES $723M ABACHA LOOT FROM SWISS GOVERNMENT

-          In March 8, 2016 in Abuja, the representatives of the Swiss Government and the Nigeria Government signed an agreement to repatriate stolen funds seized from the Abacha’s family back to Nigeria.

-          The agreement signed by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubarkar Malami and the Swiss Head of Foreign Affairs Development, Didier Burkhalter.

-          The signatories to the agreement recalled the long partnership by the two countries in asset recovery based on National economic interest, trust and mutual respect.

-          The Attorney-General said the fund will be monitored by the World Bank and used for the benefit of the Nigeria people.
