GROUP ASKS EL-RUFAI TO WITHDRAW BILL AGAINST PUBLIC PREACHING

-           The Human Rights Writers’ Association of Nigeria on Sunday called on Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State to withdraw the bill prohibiting religious preaching in public places in the state.

-          The National Coordinator of the group, Mr. Emmanuel Onwubiko alleged that the bill violates the constitutional provisions for freedom of worship.

-          According to him, should the bill be passed into law, it could breed religious crisis in the state.

-          Describing Kaduna state as very sensitive, he enjoined stakeholders in the state to not to mix religion with politics.
