
Lagos State govt on Tuesday announced the widening of its
tax net to include domestic workers and artisans.
Mr Olufolarin Ogunsanwo, Chairman of the LAGOS State
Internal Revenue Service (IRS) stated this in a news conference in Alausa.
He said the move was to get tax from workers in the informal
sector of the state with domestic workers and artisans remitting one percent of
their income as tax.He hinted that a directorate has been created
within the agency to oversee this set of tax payers.
