N780BN FINE: MTN PROPOSES 14-YEARS PAYMENT PLAN



-        The Senate Committee on Communications yesterday, investigated the N50 billion part payment of MTN, out of the imposed N780billion fine by the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC).

-        The N50billion payment was consequent on an out-of-court settlement agreed with the federal Govt.
-        The committee, worried by the proposal initiated by MTN for the reduction of the fine to N300billion had been accepted by the Minister of Justice and A. G of the Federation, Abubakar Malami. 
-        In five equal and annual installments, between the dates of this agreement, MTN is expected to pay a total of N100billion by electronic transfer to the federal govt. recovery account at CBN.
