High Court in Akwa Ibom has fixed 4th April this
year to hear the case between Gov. Udom of A’Ibom State and the editor of
Global Post Newspaper, Mr. Gideon Ekere.

Mr. Ekere is challenging the decision of the
state Gov. to file a suit against him at the State Magistrate Court against a
story published in his Newspaper on September, 25 last year.

The said story with the caption, ‘’Udom is a
deadly sex scandal’’ with a rider ‘’ someone’s wife raped to death’’ bribes
husband with N20m to keep quite’’, was a story of how a Chinese nationals hired
by Udom to construct his private home in this community, Onna had sexual intercourse
with a married woman who died in the process.

Gov Udom had after series of harassment and
attacks on the said editor through the various security agents, later filed a
suit claiming damages on his person.
