- Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, has
renamed the state university after assassinated former Minister of Justice and
Attorney General of the Federation, Chief James Bola Ige.

- The institution which used to be known as Osun
State University, Osogbo is now known as Bola Ige University, Osogbo.

- Aregbesola announced this yesterday when he was
honoured as the Visitor to the university during the 2013/2014 and 2014/2015
Convocation ceremonies.

- The change in the name of the institution was
part of sweeping renaming of all tertiary institutions in the state.
