Deputy
Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has blamed the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) for flouting the constitution.

Ekweremadu stated that INEC erred for conducting
re-run elections in the various State Houses of Assembly and the National
Assembly, later than 30-days after the elections had been nullified by the
courts.

He called for a comprehensive review of the
electoral act, to address the anomalies bring it in line with emerging
electoral realities

The Deputy Senate President faulted the courts
for not adhering to the constitution, as it is unconstitutional to conduct
elections after 30 days as constitutionally provided.
