Governor
Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State said on Monday that any attempt by President
Buhari to declare a state of emergency in Ekiti and (or) Rivers states would be
resisted.
-
Governor Fayose spoke with State house
correspondents shortly after participating in the economic retreat organized by
the National Economic Council at the Presidential villa, Abuja.
-
Fayose allegedly said he was aware of Buhari’s
plans to declare a state of emergency in Rivers State over the bloody rerun State
and National Assembly rerun elections.
-
According to Fayose, should President Buhari
execute the plan, he would be taught a lesson that power belongs to the people
and not their leaders.
