CAN WARNS EMIRS AGAINST FORCEFUL MARRIAGE OF CHRISTIAN MINORS

-           The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern states yesterday frowned at the forceful marriage of Christian minors by adult Muslims in the North.

-          The group, Northern CAN also opposed Nigeria’s membership of the Coalition of Islamic Countries Against Terrorism.

-          These positions were taken following the emergence of Reverend Yakubu Pam, as the new Chairman of Northern CAN.

-          Yesterday, Pam took over from Archbishop Peter Jatau, who was the chairman of the more than 40 years association.
