OJUKWU UNIVERSITY ASUU ELECTION ENDS IN FIASCO

-          Election organized by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Chukwuemeka Odumegwu  Ojukwu University,Anambra state has ended in a fiasco.

-          The election which was to select its senate member for the University’s Council ended in a fiasco, with ballot boxes smashed and thrown away.

-          Trouble reportedly started when ASUU members could not agree on who was qualified to contest.

-          Reportedly, most ASUU officials insisted that contract staff and those pursuing postgraduate programmes were not qualified to contest the election since the Council was a governing body of the University system.
