- President
Buhari yesterday felicitated with Nigerian Women when they joined the rest of
the world to celebrate International Women’s Day.
- The
President noted that the day was set aside by the global community to encourage
and celebrate women’s social, cultural, economic and political achievements.
- He
re-affirmed his administration’s commitment to the promotion of women’s rights
and well-being in all geopolitical zones of Nigeria.
- Meanwhile,
founder of a non-government organization, Women Empowerment and Legal Aid
(WELA), Mrs Funmi Falana, has urged government to check the rate of abuse on
women and their rights violation.
