EKET YOUTHS PROTEST AGAINST DEMOLITION OF ILLEGAL STRUCTURES




-          Youths in Eket protested over demolition of illegal structures in Udua Nka, along market road.

-          The traders, numbering over 100 demanded that the state government should pay them compensation as their business premises was not illegal and has been earmarked for compensation.
-          The protesters carried placards with inscriptions like “we have not been paid compensation as promised”, and “Governor Udom, we voted for you, please, help us”.
-          Obong Mkparawa of Ekpene Village, Mr. Stanley udoagha, said surveyors came to Eket to distinguish between illegal structures and those earmarked for compensation.
