Youths in Eket protested over demolition
of illegal structures in Udua Nka, along market road.

The traders, numbering over 100 demanded
that the state government should pay them compensation as their business
premises was not illegal and has been earmarked for compensation.

The protesters carried placards with
inscriptions like “we have not been paid compensation as promised”, and “Governor
Udom, we voted for you, please, help us”.

Obong Mkparawa of Ekpene Village, Mr.
Stanley udoagha, said surveyors came to Eket to distinguish between illegal
structures and those earmarked for compensation.
