The CEO, MTN Nigeria says his company
has withdrawn a suit if filed against the federal republic of Nigeria so as to
facilitate an out of court settlement.

MTN had sued the government for the sanction
imposed on them for lateness in deactivating 5.1 million subscribers not
properly registered.

Out of the N1.4 trillion fine imposed by
FG on MTN, the company says it has paid N500 billion.

However, NCC’s Director of Public
Affairs denies knowledge of the suit’s withdrawal because there was no official
communication from MTN.
