A Cleveland
Clinic in the United States has completed its first uterus transplant surgery
by following on a technique already proven in Sweden.

- The surgery
which took place on February 24 had a-nine-hour duration, and the 26-year-old
patient as reported is in a stable condition.

- The
transplanted uterus came from a deceased donor.

- The
University of Gothenburg in Sweden achieved the first birth via a transplanted
uterus in September 2014.
