BENUE ELDERS URGE BUHARI TO DECLARE HERDSMEN INVASION AS INSURGENCY

-           Benue state Elders has urged President Mohammedu Buhari to declare Fulani herdsmen invasion of the state and murder of the people as act of insurgency.

-          The Elders recommended that the armed herders be labeled terrorists and should be routed out by the military.

-          The Elders’ position was made known in a communique issued after a meeting in Makurdi.

-          Leaders and elders of Mdzough U Tiv, Idoma National Forum and Omi Ny’Igede, have rejected the proposed town hall meeting by Federal Government, stating that only an inclusive Judicial Commission of Inquiry would unravel the cause of the problem between farmers and herders.
