KADUNA STADIUM: NFF, POLICE AT WAR AS CAF AXE LOOMS

-          The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and authorities are at loggerheads over the overcrowding at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna during last Friday’s nation’s cup game with Egypt which is likely to incur the wrath of CAF.

-          An over bloated capacity of 40,000 spectators besieged the 25,000-capacity Ahmed Bello Stadium with some hanging on the scoreboard, television outposts and the arena tracks.
-          While the police authorities blame the NFF for failing to restrict ticket sales to prescribed capacity, the NFF in turn blame the police and the state govt. for sloppy crowd control measures.
-          “We did everything, we played our role but we have no control over the crow, NFF is not a security agency; we can’t go and mount the gate,” said an NFF official.
