- The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has been barred from increasing electricity tariff by Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos.
- He ordered the commission and their distribution companies to revert to the former tariff.
- He maintained that the order is binding on all until it is set aside by a court of competent jurisdiction.
- Justice Idris, however, said NERC and the distribution companies are still liable to be held in contempt should they continue to violate the order.
