NYSC DG VISITS FAMILY OF SLAIN CORPS MEMBER, PROMISES SUPPORT



-           The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has stated that the family of the Corps member, Okonta Dumebi Samuel, killed by unknown gunmen in Rivers state, would not be abandoned.

-          NYSC Director-General, Brig. General Johnson Olawumi gave the assurance during a condolence visit to the family and the palace of the paramount ruler of Illah Town, Oshimili North LGA, Delta state, the Ogbelani of Illah. Obi Akazue Gbemudu 11.
-          Olawumi revealed that NYSC was already collaborating with INEC and the Rivers State Government to ensure Dumebi’s befitting burial and support for the bereaved family.
-          According to the DG, NYSC has always made the protection of corps members a priority, throughout the service year, disclosing that Dumebi’s death came as a rude shock.
