- The federal polytechnic, Okoh, Anambra
state; has concluded plans to train about 6000 school dropouts drawn from 7
communities.
- The rector of the school, Prof. Godwin Onu
disclosed this at the foundation-laying ceremony of the ultramodern two-storey
national secretariat complex building embarked upon by the school’s alumni.
- The rector stated that the programme is
targeted at training youths in skills like shoe-making, mushroom farming and
processing, etc; with a course running between six months to one year.
- He also appealed that the university should
be upgraded to a degree awarding institution, as it has all it takes to become
