The A’Ibom govt. will
receive N1.7billion this week from Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
- -
The amount which
is specifically targeted at granting financial aid to small-scale
industrialists and micro business entrepreneurs in the state is the second
tranche, as the state had earlier benefited from N240million in the first
phase of the package.
- -
The deputy Gov. Moses
Ekpo, says the money will be used to encourage the less privileged and
vulnerable ones amongst indigenes of the state to grow their businesses, would
ultimately contribute immensely in stimulating growth in the local economy.
- -
The deputy Gov.
noted that in view of the enormity of this responsibility, the govt. cannot do
it alone, thus stressing the need for the church and the corporate world to
create safety nets through welfare structures and policies to assist the
teeming population of disadvantaged citizens.
