The
Nigeria Police in Lagos and Osun states have embarked on the training of school
security guards in order to beef up security around schools in the states.

Police spokesperson, Police zone 2 comprising
Lagos and Ogun states, CSP Adebowale made the disclosure during an interaction
with journalists in Lagos.

Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge
of zone 2, Mr. Bala Hassan has directed all DPOs in the zone to commence regular
enlightenment meetings on security with school Proprietors and Principals.

He advised the management of schools to install
Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras within and around school premises, in
order to monitor peoples’ movements.
